Your impact:

You will join the Capacity Engineering team in the Platform Department and help shape technical direction and best practices for our current and future needs. The Capacity Engineering team is a new team at Demonware and will work with teams based around the world.

You will work with teams to develop capacity requirements and track those throughout the year with a view of where and when capacity may be needed. You will gather data on capacity requests, allocation and usage from physical hardware up to service deployments.

• Build and maintain tooling to collect, visualise and report on allocated capacity
• Own the capacity allocation workflow end to end
• Integrate tooling into the workflow to automate manual steps
• Gather data from tools and data sources across the business to better understand capacity usage and efficiency over time
• Work closely with teams on long term planning of capacity requirements for footprint expansions
• Own the tooling that helps guide choices for capacity requests
• Act as an escalation point for systems and services owned by the team

About you:
• 2+ years practical experience in a DevOps environment
• 3+ years practical infrastructure experience, preferably in high-volume and/or critical production service environments
• Strong scripting skills: Unix shell programming and ideally Python or Go
• Experience working closely with: Grafana, Kibana, Jira

• Firm grasp of Linux administration and core operating system concepts
• A desire to automate all the things
• Experience with version control systems, ideally Git
• Strong reasoning skills with experience bringing together complex datasets from unconnected sources
• Some experience of data engineering and modelling would be an advantage
• Fundamental knowledge of how services interact with the underlying systems infrastructure and hardware
• Working knowledge of public clouds such as AWS, GCP and Azure
• Knowledge of container orchestration technologies (specifically Kubernetes)

Interview overview:

This is what you can expect from your interview process with us. As our team, and closely adjacent teams, are distributed globally we may need to make some adjustments along the way. We aim for you to meet as many of the people you will work closely with during the process. We will keep you informed of any changes along the way.
• 1x 30-60 minute engineering screen call (with up to 2 people)
• 3x 1 hour technical conversations (with up to 3 people per session)
• 1x 30 minutes with other team members (with up to 3 people)

What Demonware Offers:
