What we do:

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join the Platform Team. We build monitoring infrastructure for complex distributed systems. Using a combination of open source projects and extensive custom software our focus is on improving the experience of on call engineers during outages and incidents. Our monitoring systems are high scale, and highly available. Many companies struggle with high volumes of low value alerts. We are working towards building human-aware systems to improve action ability of system alerting, with a high priority on reducing alert fatigue

Your responsibilities:
• Develop new tools to improve workflows across the organization
• Own, operate and support the tools and automation that you and your team develop
• Drive design of the software produced on the team, as well as define technical standards and patterns
• Identify problems or inefficiencies facing our engineers and drive adoption of new tools, process or infrastructure to help improve productivity
• Provide outstanding support to the engineers who utilize and depend on your tools and automation
• Take ownership of problems and projects which require in-depth evaluation

About you:
• 1+ year relevant work experience in high-volume and highly-available production service environments
• Extensive experience working in a distributed Linux environment
• Proficiency in Python
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain existing and build new tools in Python
• Experience with at least one major data store such as MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra
• Experience with automated deployment on CI/CD pipelines
• Proficient working with applications deployed on Kubernetes in Docker containers
• Tenacity for debugging and solving technology problems at root cause

In the US, the standard base pay range for this role is $77,500.00 - $143,376.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the US and is not applicable to locations outside of the US Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
