Your Mission

As a People Data Scientist you will mine data to test key hypothesis and build predicitive insights into the technical dashboarding solutions you will develop. Delivering breakthrough insights across our HR value chain, and using new creative ways to inform how the organization can deliver maximum value to our business partners. Analysts, Scientists and Developers work in a highly collaborative environment as part of the People Analytics team going through a strategizing and ideation stage prior to building new applications and solutions.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
• Build various statistical models to determine key drivers of our most important business facing delivery metrics
• Show critical thinking regarding cause and effect relationships across our vast people datasets
• Design and deliver operational BI dashboards, metrics analyses/queries at agreed service levels
• Deliver a range of analysis activities - data extraction, analysis and recommendations
• Create tools to store data effectively within the organization, known as online analytical processing, as well as maintaining data analytics platforms so that data can effectively be mined for information at a later date.
• Conduct unit tests and develop database queries to analyze the effects and troubleshoot any issues that arise. This is an ongoing part of the development process that occurs regularly throughout a project to pick up on any part of the application that isn't working correctly.
• Responsible for creating reports based on completed projects. They also develop and update technical documentation for senior members of staff and colleagues within the IT department to serve as a reference guide
• Support with developing hypothesis, building data models using e.g. advanced analytical techniques, machine learning, text analytics and models to provide insight
• Enhance and apply data science techniques to provide insights in People Data.
• Conduct statistical analysis on bespoke questions to provide deeper understanding from experiences across the employee lifecycle.

Player Profile

Minimum Requirements:
• We're looking for someone with 2-5 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models, has a Master's or PHD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field.
• Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
• Strong background in latest versions of Tableau Desktop/Server (2018.x+)
• Have published and used multiple data sources in Tableau.
• Experience working with and creating data architectures.
• Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
• Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
• Ability to oversee and deliver across multiple tasks and deadlines
• Integrity, advanced professionalism and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of company and employee information

A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques and is familiar with the following software/tools:
• Coding knowledge and experience with several languages: C, C++, Java,
• JavaScript, etc.
• Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc.
• Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages: R, Python, SQL, etc.
• Experience using web services: Redshift, S3, Spark, DigitalOcean, etc.
• Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
• Experience analyzing data from 3rd party providers: Google Analytics, Site Catalyst, Coremetrics, Adwords, Crimson Hexagon, Facebook Insights, etc.
• Experience with distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Gurobi, MySQL, etc.
• Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: Periscope, Business Objects, D3, ggplot, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into visual designs for interactive dashboards
• Ability to oversee and deliver across multiple tasks and deadlines
• Integrity, advanced professionalism and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of company and employee information
• Very proficient in Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and presenting data in a simple and engaging way
• Experience and knowledge of HR and Employee data
