Your Mission

We are looking for a self-motivated employment lawyer and team player to join our International Legal team to cover a maternity leave. The team broadly covers, from an employment perspective, the legal work for the group in EMEA, with some additional support for LATAM & ANZ.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide pragmatic advice & counsel in a timely & responsive manner on a broad range of employment law issues including hiring, benefits, employment contracts, employee relations, performance management, discipline, leaves of absence, immigration.
Other responsibilities will include working with the employment team on the following:
• Providing business-oriented and people-focused legal advice and support for our HR, Compensation & Benefits, Talent Development and Talent Acquisition teams) on a wide range of employment, compliance and regulatory matters
• Developing, improving, & implementing policies, plans, & practices
• Developing trusted partner relationships with stakeholders
• Driving & supporting designated projects & workplace initiatives
• Developing & delivering training programs
• Contributing to other initiatives as part of the global Compliance/Ethics team and partnering with other team members on global projects.
• Managing all aspects of any relevant employment litigation
• Support for people-focused global initiatives

The workload is diverse and demanding due to the requirements of the business and the market sectors in which the group operates.
• Through your advice and guidance, you must also demonstrate a clear awareness for/appreciation of the culture and values of the organisation as well as the importance of employee engagement

Player Profile

Qualifications/Training (appropriate to the job)
• Strong academic record and honours degree (or equivalent) and qualification in law / practising certificate from any country in the EU
• Qualified in private practice with a leading law firm, most suited to someone with approx 4-6 years' PQE. In-house experience is a definite advantage

Knowledge/Experience/Skills/Abilities (appropriate to the job)
• Strong background in employment law and employee relations in any EU country
• Strong analytical skills combined with a focus on problem-solving, with an appreciation for striking a practical balance between business, legal and ethical objectives
• Able to build and maintain relationships in a collaborative and highly consensus driven organisation
• Able to absorb new skill sets and areas of expertise quickly and comfortably, together with the flexibility to deal with a diverse and international set of stakeholders and partners
• Able to juggle multiple matters simultaneously, prioritize work effectively, & provide timely solutions in a busy, fast-paced environment

• Committed professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Additional European languages an advantage
