Your Mission

As an Associate VAT Accountant you will be based in our Soho Offices as part of our London VAT team. Reporting to the VAT Compliance Manager, you will be assisting with key accounting and bookkeeping tasks, as well as helping out on tax projects as required. This role has good exposure to the wider business, including the broader Finance team, Accounts Payable and Supply Chain, and to different operating segments across the Activision, Blizzard and King group., from digital services to the supply of physical products. Direct experience of VAT is not essential for the role, but fundamental financial and accounting knowledge is a must.

Your main responsibilities will be helping our VAT analysts with VAT journals, reconillations and invoice checks, as well as providing assistance in preparing and filing VAT returns and payment requests, and assisting with responses to audit queries as and when they arise. Strong inter-personal skills, excellent communication skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability work effectively in an team are all qualities we are looking for.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
• Assist in the preparation and filing of VAT returns, including VAT on e-service returns (EU and non-EU), Intrastat declarations and EC Sales Listings for entities of the Activision Blizzard King corporate group.
• Assist with the coordination of the VAT account reconciliation and ensure that all VAT accounts to the General Ledger are reconciled on a monthly basis, as well as undertaking further trend analyses quarterly.
• Observe filing deadlines and payment due dates.
• Provide indirect tax payment forecasting and tracking.
• Assist Accounting and Operations colleagues with day to day VAT related questions, and assist the tax team with audit questions regarding invoices, payment details and accounting.

Player Profile

Experience
• Previous experience working in a finance team

Knowledge & Skills
• Accounting qualifications: Part qualified or qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Good computer skills, especially Excel
• Fluency in English language is a must
• Understanding of VAT compliance and some VAT knowledge is an advantage but not essential
• Knowledge of Oracle R12 and OBIEE is an advantage
