Job Description

Philadelphia's dominant news station is looking for a trailblazing, ahead-of-the-curve video journalist to join the Action News team. The successful candidate embraces new technology and is not afraid to use it. Must deliver impactful storytelling, utilize next-generation shooting techniques and incorporate high-end craft editing as well as a proven track record in the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of daily news gathering.

Responsibilities:
• Be self-reliant and a creative photojournalist who is a team player with the resourcefulness to improvise and solve problems when required.
• Applicants must be proficient in working in the field alone or with various reporters meeting multiple deadlines.
• working operational knowledge of microwave/broadband mobile units and streaming technology, as well as file transfer solutions on a daily basis, is essential.
• The candidate is a creative visual storyteller with a desire to create content on all digital platforms

Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum of 3 years of ENG shooting and editing experience, in a large or network-level television market
• Ability to edit in a fast-paced environment that is reactive to compelling content as well as breaking news.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize & manage tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot, proactively identify, and quickly resolve technical issues and/or inefficiencies.
• Must be familiar with basic video and audio principles. Adobe Premiere experience preferred.
• Hours will vary depending on the needs of the news department, so flexibility to work a varied schedule is required.
• Candidates must have a valid driver's license.
• The ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. of equipment is required.
• Prior experience supporting digital platforms is a plus.

Required Education
• High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Studio Production, Journalism, or a related field
