Coordinator, Alternative Development, Freeform (DGE)

Freeform (formerly named ABC Family) entertains and connects to audiences with bold, relatable programming that celebrates the epic adventure of becoming an adult and is, as we like to say, ''a little forward.'' Freeform's programming is a combination of network-defining original series and original movies, quality acquired series, and blockbuster theatricals. Freeform is also the destination for annual holiday events with ''31 Nights of Halloween'' and ''25 Days of Christmas''.

The Freeform Alternative team is seeking a qualified candidate for Coordinator. This individual will be a member of the creative team and help the network build its new brand through the development of innovative Alternative series. In addition to performing Coordinator duties the candidate will also
provide administrative support to the Director and VP, Alternative Development, Freeform. Responsibilities include executive scheduling, expense reports, meeting setup, event planning and other administrative support as needed, and travel. The position requires someone who has a professional communication style, pays close attention to detail, has great organizational skills, and the ability to juggle multiple high priority requests and meet tight deadlines. It requires a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information, professional decorum to represent and interface with senior executives both inside and outside the Company. Ideal; candidates should have pose, strong communication and represent the executive office. Seeking candidates who are self-starters able to anticipate needs and handle confidential information, offer creativity to initiate enhancements and maximize work products, drive work products and showcase action-oriented follow-through, master technology and a variety of computer programs, be flexible with work schedule and meet impromptu demands.

Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day administrative support to Director and VP Alternative Development, Freeform
• Coordinate and attend general and pitch meetings
• Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to, screening and routing phone calls, managing schedule, processing expense reports, and ensuring timely and effective communications
• Provide additional office support such as distributing mail, filing, faxing, photocopying, scanning and tracking documents, ordering supplies, and processing purchase orders
• Manage the planning, coordination, and execution of virtual events and business travel, including trip logistics and itinerary, meeting coordination, and remote support of executives who are out of the office
• Responsible for coordinating internal staff meetings
• Coordinate and attend industry conferences, pitch forums, and screenings to track new voices for development
• Discuss potential voices for development during weekend read and development meetings
• Maintain relationships professionally and socially with agency and studio counterparts to allow for the extraction of as much competitive information as possible
• Participate in notes calls with producers
• Track and read incoming submissions; manage submissions database
• Hire and oversee the training of all department interns
• Prepare documents and take notes during all department meetings and retreats
• Create presentations for the department when needed
• Acting as the liaison between company executives and external production teams to make sure the needs and questions of both are addressed
• Distribute treatments, outlines, and cuts to network executives
• Oversee the security of pilot cuts and series cuts by carefully managing distribution and storage
• Track, read and evaluate all agency and staffing submissions
• Working to identify, track, and build relationships with new and unknown directing and producing talent

Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum of 3 years of previous administrative assistant experience in a high-volume entertainment desk at a studio, network, production company or talent agency
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Approachable style and ability to effectively and professionally interface with high level executives, clients, employees and business associates both internal and external
• Strong organizational and time management skills. Proven experience in multi-tasking and working with multiple people and priorities, while delivering on high quality results and follow through
• Demonstrates curiosity, business acumen and a desire to understand the 'big picture'
• Demonstrated flexibility and professionalism in an environment where change is constant
• Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
• Self-starter, with ability to work with limited supervision, exercise good judgement, anticipate issues and proactively problem solve
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• General understanding of the television development process and cycles
• Knowledge of agencies and networks
• Willingness to work overtime with short notice
• Must work well under pressure
• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Someone with a passion for television and the desire for a career in TV
• Proficient in using PCs and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote and Outlook), as well as SAP. Ability to manage various reports and presentations for the department

Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
