The Associate Producer provides operational support to our Stamford Post Production teams, responsible for edit support, coordinating media movement, supervision of basic edit sessions and support for departmental production plans. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, extremely organized and an eager problem-solver, and ideally knows his/her way around an edit room.

The Associate Producer reports to the Supervising Producers of our Stamford, CT facility.

MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:

The Associate Producer will be responsible for making sure that our producers have everything they need to successfully support the formatting and versioning process for our broadcast and distribution business streams. This role will have direct responsibility for coordinating the creation and/or movement of edit materials including video and audio files, graphics, credits, closed captions, video description and any other needed materials, making sure that they are ordered, ingested and ready in our editing facility by required deadlines. The AP will also coordinate with Global Acquisitions and Programming to retrieve or request materials such as scripts, cut notes, credits and other supporting documentation needed to support the formatting process.

The Associate Producer will coordinate and directly support simple mastering workflows by

preparing for and supervising edit sessions when required. This role is expected to have solid working knowledge of nonlinear editing platforms and be able to comfortably problem-solve in collaboration with an experienced editor under time pressure. The AP will maintain detailed edit session and mastering records for both supervised and unsupervised sessions, and enter relevant metadata into our asset management systems with strict attention to detail.

This role will support the maintenance of a centralized departmental database to track masters and versions required by our distribution partners, and liaise with cross-departmental partners to correct metadata errors stemming from upstream systems. Using input from the Supervising Producers, the Associate Producer will coordinate opportunities for open edit time using materials prepared in advance to make the most of our operational resources.

YOUR STORY:

The ideal candidate for this position is curious about and invigorated by the process of getting content prepared for our global broadcast and distribution platforms. You possess a solid understanding of post-production and can engage effectively with our Post Production Supervisor, producers and editors when needed to solve problems and keep deadlines on track.

You are detail-oriented, energetic, flexible, able to balance multiple projects/priorities, and can prioritize your time effectively in a fast-paced, highly changing environment.

You have strong written and verbal communication skills and are able to communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors, producers and cross-departmental partners to keep workflows on track, resolve problems, and ensure that deadlines and mastering standards are met successfully even when unexpected problems arise.

MORE ABOUT YOU:
• 2+ years' experience as Associate Producer for factual and reality content strongly preferred. You understand the production/post production process of creating non-fiction programming, and are able to apply industry expertise to resolve problems and avoid risk.
• Collaborative and team-oriented approach, strong organizational skills, extremely detail and solution oriented.
• Technical knowledge of NonLinear Editing platforms such as Avid Media Composer and Premiere Pro. Familiarity with Adobe Suite, Pro Tools, Aspera, MediaShuttle, FTP clients, MAMs etc. a plus.
• Computer Skills: Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Airtable and SmartSheets a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Television Production, Communications or equivalent preferred.
• Able to work evening and/or weekend hours when required.
• Bi-lingual, fluent in both written and spoken Spanish and English a plus.
