We spend some of our time looking back at performance-but even more time looking forward making actionable recommendations for growing our business. This role will support both linear and digital content sales and licensing. You will be heavily involved in analyzing the performance of content we license to various platforms including domestic and international Linear TV, AVOD/FAST and SVOD services. This role requires significant technical expertise with sophisticated analytic tools, a deep interest in media and an inquisitive mind.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Develop and support analyses of A+E portfolio performance
• Collect, normalize and report video consumption of A+E content on both linear and digital platforms, identifying trends and changes and developing narratives to support your work.
• Develop analyses on A+E viewership and develop brand stories with competitive context across A+E for content sales team
• Support A+E content sales process
• Report on audiences and demand for content among new linear and digital distributors (e.g., Defy, Pluto)
• Provide competitive intelligence that supports GCS' sales efforts

(e.g. Network schedule utilization, historical performance and new acquisitions)
• Support the sales pitch process and collateral
• Run external analyses and support forecasting
• Contextualize industry trends such as overall media consumption across platforms, cable subscription trends, and technology and their impact on A+E core business
• How people are spending their time
• Genre trends that are impacting the business
• Modelling
• Average consumption by minute among OTT competitors (e.g., Netflix)
• Impact of non-traditional distributors on the industry
• Thought leadership
• Assist in the development and execution of white papers and positions regarding industry trends
• Build strategic partnerships with research and business colleagues (finance, PR, revenue management, international, etc.)
• Navigate, join and develop reporting across multiple data sources, including Nielsen, Inscape, set-top-box data, Gracenote etc. to unlock value from data that was previously siloed

YOUR STORY [+BEHAVIORS] (what you need to have)
• Expertise
• Have used or been exposed to media research data (e.g., Nielsen, comScore, Adobe Analytics, MRI, etc.)
• Have completed a course of study in data science, business analytics or data engineering
• Hands on experience with at least one Business Intelligence platform, e.g. Tableau Desktop, Power BI, Domo Analytics, etc.
• Understand how to analyze, summarize and report quantitative data. Adept at creating visualizations and dashboards that address critical business questions
• Experience with SQL, Python and R is a plus
