Job Description

It holds true for almost any organization in any industry-you've made it when you're featured in The New York Times. If you're a PR Associate at 160over90, you'll get to realize those promotional dreams for clients, week in and week out.

As a member of our expanding Philadelphia-based PR team, the PR Associate will have a heavy hand in media relations activity for the agency's higher education roster, shining a light on world-changing research and curricular innovations and garnering visibility for college presidents, deans, researchers, and faculty experts.

The position calls for comprehensive media monitoring; development of press materials; steady pitching, primarily to national mainstream press; and coverage tracking and reporting-plus occasional speaker circuit and event ideation. And it allows for on-the-job PR Planning and Strategic Communications training for young practitioners looking to sharpen their craft and advance in the space.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Monitor national story lines, industry trends, and client news and proactively suggest relevant story opportunities
• Conduct client and competitor coverage audits and media landscape assessments
• Research and maintain media databases and target press lists
• Develop editorial calendars to guide the timing/cadence of media outreach
• Author compelling press materials and story pitch angles
• Cultivate relationships with key media contacts in national and relevant vertical industries, and conduct ongoing earned media outreach
• Respond to media inquiries/interest on behalf of clients, facilitating interviews and helping to prep spokespersons for favorable story outcomes.
• Track PR successes and maintain portfolio of press clippings
• Participate in strategic PR exercises alongside senior colleagues
• Play an active role in PR client relationships, joining recurring status calls and regularly reporting on coverage results.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• 2-3 years of PR experience.
• Ideally with some exposure to corporate communications and/or with thought leadership.
• Higher education communications experience a plus, but not required.
• Agency experience preferred.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Excels at both written and verbal communications.
• Comfortable building rapport with media contacts and pitching reporters via email and phone.
• Track record of high-visibility, national media relations results.
• Experience developing client presentations and coverage reports.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently, but also within a larger agency construct.
• Ability to manage multiple opportunities in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment.

Endeavor is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment.
