Job Description
SJ Station (Telemundo 48) Community Relations Internship –Spring 2023

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create videos for social media and display banners that help generate views, clicks, and/or social conversation
• Craft headlines and post copy for digital and social media
• Collaborate with other community team members on creative ideas or projects
• Partner with NBC Bay Area on bilingual, cross-promotional projects
• Assist with event coordination – duties ranging from securing venues, ordering premiums, executing contracts, researching vendors, etc.
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

NBCUniversal interns must meet the following criteria:
• In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress. We will consider recent graduates one semester beyond degree.
• Current class standing of Junior or above
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the US without a Visa or sponsorship
• The ability to work at the station, located at 2450 N. First Street, San Jose, CA

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and client relation skills
• Fluent in and strong ability to speak, read and write in Spanish
• Comfortable with using and administering CMS and social media platforms
• Computer proficiency required (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
• Strong working knowledge of social media platforms and trends (use of hashtags, IG/FB stories, FB events, IG reels)

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:
• Strong written and communication skills at all levels
• Excellent computer skills
• Well organized with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong multi-tasking and time management skills to successfully manage multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop or Illustrator) preferred
• Passionate about marketing, social media, and the community
• A self-starter
