Online Safety Software Engineer Intern

Sony Interactive Entertainment is looking for a Software Engineer – Trust and Safety to join our established, high-performing team in San Diego, CA. Our ideal candidate is hardworking and passionate about this field.

Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the development and improvement of tools and services that will safeguard our players' online safety
• Collaborate with engineers and our product and online safety teams to turn ideas into a time-saving efficiency saver for our moderators, or perhaps a user facing feature that cuts down on online abuse.
• Build out web-based proof-of-concepts that can be demonstrated to engineers and discussed at a technical level
• Take part in design and code reviews, present their work at all levels
• We have several items in the pipeline all waiting for an enthusiastic person that wants to make gaming a better place!

Qualifications:
• Current or post-graduate (up to 1 year) student majoring in Information Technology, Computer Programming, or related field
• Keen interest in Online Gaming
• Strong communication skills
• Organized and detail oriented, as well as a passion for making connections with others and building strong working relationships with the Safety team and wider stakeholders
• Most desirable technical skills would include Java, AngularJS, and MySQL
