About The Team:

We are looking for a legal intern to support and learn from the world's largest and most hardworking legal team that is dedicated solely to video games. At SIE, we are the very essence of video games and are redefining the console games business yet again with the PlayStation 5. The legal team deals with sophisticated legal issues from the rights of publicity, loot boxes, Esports, privacy, age estimation, social networks, and e-payments, to the more traditional yet constantly evolving fields of patents, trademarks, and copyrights.

This is a chance to see a very specialized practice with the largest dedicated team in the world. We're looking for a hardworking individual with a passion for the law but is also interested in the video game business. This isn't just any internship, you'll have a real role and will have work with real substance learning from some of the best lawyers in the industry.

Responsibilities:
• You will be on a revolving assignment in the legal department to the lawyers who support Game Development, the Privacy team, and the Chief of Staff to the Chief Legal Officer.
• You will see how laws and regulations are actually applied and implemented in a real world setting.
• You will research real world problems relating to games currently under production.
• You will help clear assets
• You will prepare, review, and finalize transactional documents
• You will be implementing worldwide privacy and regulatory legal requirements into fast developing products and services
• You will be exposed to applied law, nothing theoretical here. What you do will have a real impact in products and services and ultimately SIE's consumers.

Qualifications:
• You are a current law student pursuing their Juris Doctorate that has completed their 1L or 2L year with an interest in games, entertainment, or privacy
• You have a passion for the law and business of video games, not just playing video games.
• You have the ability to work independently and also collaboratively.
• You are comfortable with research and transactional work.
• You will be comfortable working remotely
• You are able to build clear, persuasive presentation materials, including written briefs.
