Job Description

Sesame Workshop's Office of the President and DEI department is seeking an intern for the 2022 summer semester to help provide administrative support and focus on special projects. We are looking for a proactive, organized, problem-solving, social media savvy intern with an interest in non-profit business operations.

Projects include but are not limited to:
Office of the President
• Impact Report mailing – preparing packages for mailing
• Assist with moving, filing, printing, copying, data/contact entry, list/chart creations, and travel
• Social media posting
• Organize, synthesize, and categorize a wide range of communications (including WhatsApps, emails, and transcribed conversations) in order to prepare the information for Sesame Workshop's archives. Duties will also include transcribing and potentially conducting interviews with relevant staff. The materials chronicle the process and experiences of Sesame staff and colleagues during the evacuation efforts from Afghanistan starting in August 2021.

Speakers Bureau
• Research:
• Research conferences themes and tracks, and compile research for SB team
• Research across platforms to create social media resources sheets, including partners' handles, themes, and other social media data
• Research social media post ideas for individual speakers at Sesame Workshop across Twitter, Linkedin, and Instagram
• Knowledge management
• Organize talking points, documents, presentations, and Speakers Bureau tools and assets into a user-friendly format on Sharepoint
• Explore knowledge management tools for resources by theme
• Work with Speakers Bureau coordinator to audit speaking engagements
• Upcoming speaking engagements
• Attend select internal meetings focused on planning and facilitating upcoming speaking engagements
• As directed, take notes and follow up on select tasks arising from meetings
• Previous speaking engagements
• Audit speaking engagements from 2021-2022 to compile feedback data like attendees, qualitative feedback from organizers, process feedback, and tangible outcomes

Essential Qualities and Competencies Include:
• The candidate should be a currently enrolled student pursuing a college degree and able to commute to Sesame's offices located at 1900 Broadway as needed (please note, Sesame Workshop will be operating remotely until returning to the office in a hybrid capacity)
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate to any audience
• Superb organizational skills, including keen attention to detail and the ability to manage time effectively, track and follow up on various tasks, and multi-task
• Ability to work effectively in multi-cultural settings
• Proactive attitude, creative thinker who achieves objectives through the effective use of available resources and downtime
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office and other computer skills including social media platforms, file transfer and sharing technology, and web-based communication and call tools
• Enthusiasm, energy, and a willingness to learn and create a positive work environment

Work Schedule
4-5 days a week. Days can be flexible.
The intern will need to come to the office two days per week.
