Paramount Studio Operations Accounting supports Paramount Pictures' Studio Group divisions in key operational processes and systems: billing, procurement, union payroll, compliance and monthly close activities. Operations Accounting partners with on-lot divisions such as Set Lighting & Grip, Security, Production Facilities, Studio Services, Security, and Editorial ensuring business needs are met and systems provide financial accuracy and adequate controls. We ensure all monthly closing processes and tasks are performed including posting close entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations for timely and accurate reporting to Corporate.
Approximately 70% of the Intern's work involves assisting with various Accounting projects that are billing and procurement related (i.e. STAR billing system analysis for: user verification, approval rights, account accuracy, and ticket resolution; Purchase to Procurement (P2P) Ariba buyer guides and updated P2P 'walk the process' documents.) Approximately 20% of the Intern's work involves learning and supporting the Billing efforts through legacy system STAR and P2P support to the Operating Departments. Approximately 10% of the Intern's work involves assisting with various day-to-day responsibilities file organization (shared drives), shredding, and department meetings.
The team's summer format will be hybrid out of our 5555 Melrose Ave office in Los Angeles, CA. They are not looking for a fully remote intern. We do not cover the cost of housing or transportation.
Basic Qualifications:
• Currently majoring in Finance or Accounting
• proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail
• willingness to learn, and not afraid to ask questions.
Eligibility:
• Internships are available to students who will be Juniors, Seniors or Master's students in the fall of 2023. If you are a graduating Senior, please check our website for full-time job opportunities.
• You must be available to intern full-time (5 days a week/36-40 hours a week) for 10 weeks total starting in June.
• Internships are paid at a competitive standard hourly rate (school credit is optional).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The hourly rate for this position is $20.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
