Spring 2023 Internship Program:

• Program Dates: January 17 – April 21, 2023
• Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:
• Tech Operations – Content Mgmt.: The UX team is responsible for the design of internal enterprise products that support global content distribution. These browser-based products include dashboards, scheduling & finance tools, and asset libraries. This team does not work on consumer-facing applications or mobile UIs. The ideal candidate is interested in learning about designing at an enterprise scale and working within a design system.
• Business Process Services & Strategy: Within the O&T CIO organization, Corp Business Solutions supports multiple functional customers, including but not limited to HR, Facilities, Corp Comms, Procure to Pay, and Global Real Estate. They support technology strategy, implementation, and sustainment with their business partners. This role will be exposed to several large, enterprise, high-visibility projects, including Supplier Registration and Onboarding and Contingent Worker Management. The intern will act as a technology liaison between stakeholders to understand business requirements for evolving regulations and translate requests to our Product and Eng peers. The intern will Collaborate with technical teams to provide input on technical solutions and support end-to-end solution delivery.
• Video Streaming Dev Ops: Distribution Engineering is responsible for ensuring that our content reaches all our internal and external partners. As a member of Video Streaming DevOps, which sits under that larger umbrella, this group configures 24/7 linear feeds to their partners, such as YouTube, Hulu, and Peacock. The intern will help automate configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• West Coast Studio Ops, Sustainability Strategy: The NBCU Sustainability team comprises eight dedicated staff working on Sustainability Data, Sustainability Strategy, and Sustainable Production & Content. The Sustainability Strategy team works on enterprise sustainability targets and operational sustainability with across business units and facilities across the NBCUniversal brands. • West Coast Studio Ops, Sustainability Data Analytics: The NBCU Sustainability Department sits under Global Real Estate within Operations & Technology. The Sustainability Department has three pillars: data solutions, strategy, and content & production. The three pillars work together to drive sustainability through the company. With the data solutions team, the intern will work closely with other sustainability team members and groups involved in data engineering, finance, auditing/ compliance, and real estate. The sustainability data team recently launched a new carbon reporting tool. Part of the intern's job will be to help our team determine how to use this tool to educate business leaders on their emissions impact and participate in emissions reduction projects. The intern will be able to engage directly and understand the rigor involved with corporate greenhouse gas accounting and the effect of sustainability data in achieving emissions reduction targets.
• Tech Operations: Product & Fulfillment: This team helps build the tools to place NBCUniversal content on streaming platforms worldwide. The selected intern will become familiar with the content library (NBC, E!, Bravo, Universal, DreamWorks, etc.) and the cloud automation that packages and delivers content to partners. The intern will have a behind-the-scenes look at the studio content supply chain and the migration of enterprise applications to the cloud through a Product Manager's eyes.
• Cyber Security Defense Ops: The Detection team includes three units, Threat Intelligence, Detection Engineering, and Threat Hunting. Together these three units ingest open source and internal intelligence, which drive detections and alert creation opportunities. This data and intelligence is also used to proactively prioritize hunting activities to search the environment for threats. This team is in line with the Response department within Threat Operations and openly shares and communicates findings, detections, and hunt activities to the Response team for awareness and actioning.
• Tech Operations: Enterprise Product, Data & Analytics: The Data & Analytics product team is responsible for powering insights across our enterprise business functions.
Our main areas of focus are Content, Marketing, Research, & Corporate for direct analytics support and building a Data Mesh framework to support self-service capabilities. The ideal candidate is interested in learning about data at an enterprise scale and working to standardize across functions.
• Distribution Engineering: Distribution Engineering is responsible for ensuring that our content reaches all our internal and external partners. As a member of DevOps M+C (Management and Control), which sits under that larger umbrella, we ensure all necessary devices, services, and components are reachable and appropriately monitored within our infrastructure. At the core of everything that we do is automation! The DevOps M+C Intern will gain exposure to our internal business partners, external vendors, and some of the brightest minds in the video industry!
• Human Resources: The West Coast Studio Operations HR team at NBCUniversal is looking for a high-energy, results-driven, and innovative HR Intern. The role is a perfect launch pad for someone interested in a career in HR, providing experience in both generalist and specialist work. We support the West Coast Studio Operations business at NBCU with a rich history in Film & TV and industry-leading broadcast & studio services, studio post, stages & backlots, special events, and more. In this role, you will have exposure to HR projects that span: onboarding, rewards and recognition, performance feedback, talent attraction and development, and HR's business impact. In the day-to-day, you will help solve problems involving: Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, Finance and Data Analytics.
• Software Engineering: The Program Scheduling/Finance Engineering team manages the software delivery and operations of all Programming, Scheduling, and Finance applications. The team works on the custom applications developed on Java, Open-source web (Angular, React), client/server technologies, reporting, and data warehouse tools. We use modern cloud-native software development methodologies and are a prolific user of AWS and Azure cloud.
