Responsibilities

Opportunities may include (but are not limited to):

Digital Video Productions, Olympics – this intern will aid in producing video content for Olympic sports, both during the Games and between them, and publish that content to NBC's digital platforms.

Editorial, Research – The research and editorial department helps support various departments including, but not limited to, production, marketing, sales, and social teams. Our intern will help our research group with all of these areas and over the summer could be involved in early NFL planning, golf and Premier League prep, and could spend significant time helping craft bios for the Track & Field World Championships in July.

Editorial, GOLF – Our team of digital writers and editors oversees and supports GolfChannel.com. This internship will include the opportunity to both edit and create written content for the website, while working during the busy summer months, which include multiple major championships on the men's and women's sides. This is a remote position (but no travel to tournaments involved).

NBCSports.com News Desk – this intern will play an important role on our team primarily publishing video across various platforms (NBCSports.com, YouTube, NBC Sports app, GolfChannel.com, Peacock, etc.) and updating NBCSports.com with fresh video/written content regularly. This team is responsible for coordinating with the video team, blog writers, and social team for ensuring all video/written content is delivered in a timely and accurate manner, with a focus on SEO and engaging titles.
Olympics Research - this intern will work on putting in results for previous world championships and Olympics for all Olympic sports to help us stay on track in manual work, transcribing interviews, writing recaps and keeping us posted on other projects of interest.

Consumer Engagement - this intern will help us stay organized in our social content calendar and stay on top of current trends and emerging stories, then pitch ideas to the team. They will assist coordinators in creating content for our platforms.

Golf Channel Production - this intern will join an immensely collaborative environment with the opportunity to work on high quality sports television projects. The ideal candidate thrives on developing new skills and has an interest or experience in working in Golf sports television production.

Motion Graphics Production - this intern will perform entry level tasks assigned by Art Director and Project Manager that will allow the candidate an opportunity to engage with others and gain a broader understanding of workplace expectations.

Programming - The GOLF Programming Intern provides support to all divisions within the programming department.  Responsibilities range from information gathering and organization to data entry to show screening.  The GOLF Programming Intern assists in the following areas: program information, program scheduling, program operations and international relations.

Technical Logistics - this intern will interact with internal customers at our facilities support window facilitating their support needs with a high level of service and support. This includes production support requests, shipping, shipment tracking, supply distribution, asset management support and other facility support needs.
Olympic Production – The Olympic Production group produces live Olympic sports during non-Games time, such as World Championships and National Championships, and works toward long-term production goals in the lead-up to each Olympics. This intern will support the team in daily tasks, gaining editorial knowledge, storytelling techniques, and technical skills along the way.

Qualifications/Requirements
• In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.

Additional Job Requirements 
• If selected for an in-person internship, must be willing to work in Stamford, CT.
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment. 
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or must undergo regular COVID-19 testing if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite. 
• Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.

Desired Characteristics
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
• Student with class standing of junior or above preferred
• Strong interest in the media industry; knowledge of sports and/or fantasy sports is a plus 
• Commitment to building an inclusive work environment  
• Ability to multitask and highly organized  
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Previous internship experience or on-campus leadership
• For Consumer Engagement: must be working towards Communication, PR, Journalism major, or similar field
• For Digital Video Productions, Olympics: Experience editing with AVID or Adobe Premier video editing systems
• For Editorial/Production: Experience on a school newspaper or campus news station is a plus
• For Golf Channel Production: Familiarity with PGA Tour and LPGA Tour strongly preferred. Familiarity with college golf a bonus
• For Motion Graphics Production: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & After Effects. Bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts or related field recommended
• For Technical Logistics: May be required to lift/carry over 25 lbs.
