NBC Sports Next: This group is a subdivision of NBC Sports and home to all NBCUniversal digital applications in sports and technology within its three groups: Youth & Recreational Sports, Golf, and Betting, Gaming & Emerging Media. NBC Sports Next is fueled by its mission to innovate, create larger-than-life events and connect with sports fans through technology to provide the ultimate in immersive experiences.

A specific role may include:

Product & Technology – In our Product Management department, we are responsible for identifying market needs and transitioning those needs into software products and solutions in youth and recreational sports. As an intern with the Product Management team, you will get exposure to the inner workings of a modern software company and how work gets from an idea to a live experience in the hands of customers.

NBC Sports Next Data Science: This group focuses primarily on using advanced analytics to support the operational work across multiple arms of the business and creating products at the B2B or B2C side of the business.

A specific role in this group includes:

Decision Science – this intern will assist handling the inputs and outputs of our operational algorithms, assist in running the algorithms, makes inferences about the data and research new methodologies of enhancing the inhouse processes using operations research and advanced analytics techniques.

Qualifications/Requirements
• In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
• For Decision Science: Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, Economics, Data Science.
• For Product & Technology: Computer skills, inclusive of a strong interest in technology, software development, and/or product management

Additional Job Requirements 
• If selected for an in-person internship, must be willing to work in Orlando, FL
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment. 
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or must undergo regular COVID-19 testing if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite. 
• Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.

Desired Characteristics
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
• Student with class standing of junior or above preferred
• Strong interest in the media industry; knowledge of sports and/or fantasy sports is a plus 
• Commitment to building an inclusive work environment  
• Ability to multitask and highly organized  
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Previous internship experience or on-campus leadership
• For Decision Science: SQL, Advanced Excel, Python/R
• Previous experience with youth or recreational sports is a plus but not required
