Opportunities may include (but are not limited to):

Fandango Rewards – Web Development: Our intern will be exposed to development, testing and deployment process of modern secure web applications. Our tech stack is a mix of traditional LAMP and modern architecture (Microservices, NodeJS hosted in the AWS cloud). Our applications handle debit card data and PII and have to comply with strict security and compliance rules. Our websites are supporting promotional offers of major brands (Applebee's, AT&T Comcast, Kroger, Johnson & Johnson). We are a small development team mostly based in beautiful Lake Tahoe where we develop sites with nationwide audience.

Fandango PMO: The Fandango PMO organization plays a critical role in the delivery of products/projects across a multitude of business lines such as Ticketing, Rotten Tomatoes, and Vudu.

Fandango Software Engineering: As a software engineer working on our systems and services, you will work with a talented team of professional engineers to deliver projects and systems critical to Fandango's business. We expect our engineers to be versatile, collaborative, and enthusiastic about taking on new problems across our businesses as we continue to build great experiences for fellow movie fans. 

Peacock Playback Services: Within the Playback Services Innovation group we are looking interns to assist in building websites, demos and prototypes around our video player and encoding technologies. If you are interested in VR, compression algorithms, automation computer vision or machine learning then this is the group to join. Responsibilities include: web development, research assistant tasks and JS/C++ development.

Peacock Program Management: This team is responsible for supporting the coordination of product, business and technical requirements for various projects. Interns will review and coordinate requirements from product and business stakeholders, working with our technical teams and project managers to ensure these are reflected across our engineering repositories. Interns will gain experience in project coordination, requirements gathering, and analytics/project reporting.

Peacock Site Reliability Engineering & Operations: Interns will assist in providing monitoring, event execution, and escalation for NBCUniversal's delivery of digital video content. These teams work closely with leadership across various disciplines to understand existing processes and develop automation inside existing tool sets creating workflows and reporting dashboards. Gain valuable experience supporting multiple software delivery and engineering teams to ensure services are scalable, resilient, performant, and monitored.

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications

In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress.  

Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).

Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.

Additional Job Requirements

Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.

Desired Characteristics
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
• Knowledge or experience with JavaScript, Java, Python, Go or related programming languages
• Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence for running reports, uploading documents, and basic site administration
• Scripting ability using Visual Basic, Microsoft PowerApps and Power Automate
• Familiarity with source code management such as GitHub
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration like Docker & Kubernetes
• Familiarity with some CI/CD concepts, basic networking infrastructure and protocols, and cloud computing concepts
• Desire for experience developing consumer-facing software
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology
• Understanding of conceptual usage of one or more types data stores
• Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure or similar)
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices, and/or service-oriented
• Strong interest in the media industry
• Commitment to building an inclusive work environment
• Data-driven thinker who uses insights and analysis to guide strategies and make decisions
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, analytical, and project management skills
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Previous internship experience and on-campus involvement
