Epic Games Unreal Engine, Special Projects team is looking for a smart, creative Gameplay programmer Intern to join them in 2023. Joining this team means you're motivated to seek solutions to problems and work with other developers to make positive changes to the Unreal Engine. The heart of this role is C++ programming and debugging Epic's never-ending line of awesome creations, each with their own set of challenges.
Our Interns are given challenging projects over the work term, and are provided with a meaningful experience with high expectations for performance. If you want to build something Epic, this is the opportunity for you!

In This Role You Will:
• Implement, debug, and support gameplay functionality using C++
• Use rapid prototyping while ensuring that strong architectural and algorithmic decisions are made
• Work closely with art and design to create and iterate on gameplay features
• Collaborate with Unreal Engine teams to help guide ongoing feature development
• Optimize and fix bugs in existing gameplay systems
• Contribute ideas toward all aspects of the game's production and development
• Write robust, maintainable code

What We're Looking For:
• Strong C++ knowledge is a must
• Portfolio showcasing projects of gameplay coding utilizing C++
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine and understanding of blueprints
• Passionate about game development and Epic Games products, specifically Fortnite
• Exceptional communication skills and experience working within a team
• Able to react and respond effectively to coding feedback
