CG Character Art Intern - Fortnite

Multiple locations - South Jordan, Utah and Cary, North Carolina.

Epic Games Fortnite team is looking for a creative Character Art Interns to join them in 2023. In this talented team of veteran and emerging artists you'll collaborate across teams, and contribute directly to Fortnite! Joining this team means you're motivated to create engaging scenes that introduce new characters or experiences to our audience of players.
Our goal is to give each new beat for Fortnite its first impression and keep our audience on their toes with what might be coming next. You'll be asked to contribute ideas and collaborate with others in deciding how to depict the untold stories of our characters and the awesome events that take our players to new worlds.
Our Interns are given challenging projects over the work term, and are provided with a meaningful experience with high expectations for performance. If you want to build something Epic, this is the opportunity for you!

In This Role You Will
• Create 3D characters, enemies, and character accessories such as backpacks in ZBrush/Maya
• Help Epic push the visual envelope by creating stunning and inspiring characters
• Collaborate on character design with the Art Director and the game design team
• Collaborate on the visual character style and ensure our designs are of the Epic quality bar
• Create alternate skin designs for approved hero characters

What We're Looking For
• Character art portfolio required with application
• Passion for all aspects of character art creation
• Projects showcasing detailed, modern, forward looking characters
• Knowledge of ZBrush, Maya/3DSMax
• Knowledge of Marmoset, Substance and Unreal Engine is a plus
• Skills in composition, value, and dynamic posing is a plus
• Strong understanding of color theory and how color affects mood & focal points
• Traditional drawing skills and knowledge of the human anatomy is a plus
