Product Management Intern (Madden, Graduate Student)

This role is specifically for joining Madden NFL Football's product management team, helping develop the best football experience for our players.

The Role

Product managers wear many hats in game development. You will help us oversee product research, analysis, and feature development to ensure our games surprise and delight players worldwide, while also supporting the strategy and goals of the broader Madden team. More specifically, you can expect to do the following:
• Leverage consumer insights to deliver compelling business cases around player acquisition, engagement, retention and monetization strategies.
• Research trends in competitor games, ask though-provoking questions, and identify opportunities to level up our own products.
• Conduct in-depth data analysis to inform product direction and optimize player experience.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand product/feature requirements and draw on best practices from across the Madden organization to deliver detailed technical product requirements and specifications for product improvement.
• Deliver detailed and data-driven recommendations to studio partners to influence product roadmap(s).
• Learn and develop critical PM skills (Prioritization, Design Thinking, Persuasion…) to grow your expertise as a PM within the gaming industry

Program Structure

The EA Product Management Internship features more than just hands-on experience; the program includes formal product management education and mentorship in a variety of ways. It is structured around helping you become a well-rounded PM and someone who is steeped in EA's culture!

The 12 week program will have the following structure:
• Week 1-2: Crash course on product management in gaming and EA
• Week 3-11: Embed on the Madden game team to help drive the game to new heights
• Week 12: Prepare and present a deck outlining your learnings and experiences

Preferred Qualifications
• Working towards a BS or MS in Business, Marketing, MBA or BS, MS, in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science (degree majors not a strict requirement)
• Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus: product management, consumer internet products, design / creative industry (e.g., working at agency), gaming, entrepreneurship
• Passion and interests for gaming, product management, football, and/or Madden product
• High empathy for players
• Possesses an entrepreneurial mindset that is unequivocally curious and obsessed with driving customer improvements
• Creative problem solver with ability to translate complex problems into actionable product solutions
• Ability to collaborate with and influence diverse stakeholders
• Strong data analysis skills that cut through the noise, coalescing many data points into a coherent narrative of why we see the results that we see
• Strong organizational skills & attention to detail
• Demonstrates strong storytelling capabilities via excellent verbal and written communication skills

Requirements

Must be available for a full-time paid internship in the summer of 2023.

We are only considering students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the summer of 2023, slated to graduate no earlier than December 2023. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full time basis during the 12-week internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

EA has listed the hourly pay ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, degree type (e.g. Bachelor's, Master's, PhD), what stage you are in your degree journey (i.e. freshman, sophomore, etc.), qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

HOURLY PAY RANGES
• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
º $27 - $45
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
º $22 - $31
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
º $37 - $45
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $27 - $39
• Jersey City, NJ :
º $37 - $45

The hourly pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including 80 hours per year of sick time (prorated based on scheduled hours per week if less than full-time), 16 paid company holidays per year, medical insurance, and 401(k). Interns in California are also eligible for Voluntary Disability Insurance.
