Software Engineer, Direct to Consumer
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will partner with the Product, Operations, Design, and Editorial teams to bring NBC News Digital content to life. You will be a significant influence on our product roadmap, bringing a technical and strategic perspective. You will work alongside fellow inspired developers in a fast-paced environment using technologies like Sass, React.js and GraphQL to help shape the future of digital news.

Technical Operations- Studio Operations
Studio Operations is part of the larger Technical Operations & Engineering department that serves CNBC Business News, Digital and Events production.
Our department is responsible for the operations of studio equipment, set construction and maintenance and lighting. As an intern you will get exposure to and practice on the equipment our Technical Associates work in each day. In addition, you will work to support the managers in on-going projects and daily administration of broadcasts and productions.

Technical Operations- Engineering
Our team's mission is to design, build, implement and support the technologies that enable our various teams to produce and broadcast our content. An Intern in our department would get exposed to many areas of broadcast engineering, IP networks and broadcast audio. We are in the process of upgrading many of these technologies to the current industry standards, so there is a lot of opportunity for learning.

iOS Development
As an iOS Development Intern, you will work as a fully-integrated member of the CNBC Mobile Engineering team, working on CNBC's flagship iOS App. You will work closely with peers from engineering, product, and design to move our platforms forward. In this internship, you will gain experience and insight from working with an Agile process within a CI/CD pipeline on an enterprise application.

Front End Web Development
The Frontend Engineering team at CNBC.com is looking for talented interns to join our incredible engineering culture. You will work alongside software engineers building realworld features that are consumed daily by an audience of millions. Your primary focus is engineering, but you will also collaborate with all facets of our web engineering practices. This includes working with product on understanding and clarifying requirements, working with our design team to make sure features are pixel-perfect, and testing with our quality engineers to make sure your features are bug-free. Our engineering teams are focused on quality, and you will learn how to deliver clean code that is 100% covered by unit tests and follows today's best practices in web engineering using React

Project Management
As a Project Management Intern within the CNBC Product and Technology team, you will have the opportunity to learn and experience how Agile teams deliver technical projects to reach our customers across our various platforms including the Web, Mobile, Voice and OTT platforms. The Project Management intern will assist Project Managers with day-to-day management of the product development lifecycle gaining hands-on experience with the tools and processes needed to drive execution of technical initiatives from inception to launch.

Qualifications/Requirements
• In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress.  
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.

Additional Job Requirements
• If selected for an in-person internship, must be willing to work in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or must undergo regular COVID-19 testing if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite.
• Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.

Desired Characteristics
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
• Strong interest in the media and/or technology industry

• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Previous internship experience or on-campus leadership/projects a plus
• For technical roles: Knowledge of HTML, C++, CSS/Sass, Go, Java, Javascript, Github, Maven, PHP, Swift, React, GraphQL, Xcode Unix/Linux scripting, Node.js and relational databases and/or web development
• For Technical Operations roles: Experience with robotic and studio Camera and studio, Video Shading, Stage Managing, Video Wall management, video playback, prompter and lighting. Electrical, Computer engineering backgrounds a plus. Cisco, CompTIA or comparable a plus.
• Desired Majors: Business, Digital/New Media Studies, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Graphic Design, Animation, Business Analytics Data Journalism, Information Technology, Network Engineer, Mobile Development, Programming, Product Management, Project Management, Systems Administration, Software Engineering, Statistics, Web Design, Web Development, Technology Management, User Experience (UX)
