Senior Audio Engineer, On Air Promotion - Oxygen

The Senior Audio Engineer, On Air Promotion - Oxygen will create and mix audio for on-air/online promotions and sales tapes and report to the Director of Production of Oxygen Media.
Record and direct voice over sessions
• Create the sound design and mix audio for projects
• Collaborate with the graphics department, producers, and editors on the creative content of promos
• Manage audio department
• Manage music cue sheets for all spots mixed
• Propose Audio department budgets, and make equipment purchase suggestions
• Maintain proficiency with state of the art audio related software and hardware
• Attend trade seminars and read trade publications to stay up on current technology
• Attend departmental and audio/editor related meetings
• Assist other departments (Production, Broadcast Operations) with audio related needs
• Assist with the directing of various VO talent and offer suggestions about which talent to choose for a given project
• Mix and sweeten audio content of material. Synchronize and layback the final mix to tape for broadcast
• Maintain the file management and archive system of all audio material
• Find and train freelance audio engineers to work in second audio room. Oversee the work done by the second person to keep a consistency within the work
• Research and recommend tools to keep the audio department up to date with technology. This includes, proposing a budget, and working with purchasing regarding different vendors and sources for specific purchases
• Train junior producers on gaining a better knowledge of audio as a creative tool and how to direct and get the most from a VO talent
• Work with post engineering team to maintain and help diagnose system problems
• Design and oversee the acoustics of the second audio mixing room
• Assist other departments such as Broadcast Operations, Software Development and Production with any audio related needs

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
# Bachelors degree
# Minimum 5 years audio experience; 2 years of broadcast audio
# Minimum 3 years experience with ProTools software and control surfaces, NetMix sfx software, machine room routers, and ISDN audio hardware

# Must be willing to take drug test and submit to a background investigation
# Must be 18 years or older
# Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
