Job Description:

I. POSITION SUMMARY:

Field Production Manager. Responsible for booking ENG field crews, managing field office and staff, organize and manage large field shoots, responsible for field budgets, coding and issuing purchase orders. Reality show experience a MUST!

II. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Schedules and supervises field production. Hiring and supervising field crews and negotiating with vendors for assigned shoots. Work closely with Post Production.

Create realistic, cost effective production budgets in conjunction with Executive in Charge of Production.

Monitors all field costs. Issues purchase orders and tracks all costs..

Supervise Unit Manager and Location Coordinators.

Review, code and process all production related invoices on a timely basis. Coordinate all necessary approvals with Executive in Charge of Production and Finance.

III. DECISION MAKING/ACCOUNTABILITY:

Position requires substantial ability to take initiative and leadership. Under general supervision, Position is responsible for generating and monitoring field production budgets.

IV. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills. In depth familiarity with location television production technical knowledge a must. Ability to work long hours and under pressure.

V. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

College education preferred. Strong computer skills is a necessity. At least 5 years experience in field television production management.

VI. DESCRIBE THE MOST DIFFICULT OR COMPLEX ASPECT OF THIS POSITION:

Location television production is inherently complex and always changing. The ability to solve complicated problems under deadline pressure is the most difficult requirement of the position.

VIII. DIRECT REPORTS:

Reports to Co-Executive Producer and Executive in Charge of Production


INTERACTIONS/CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:

Production Manager works with Unit Manager, Location Coordinator, Post Production Producer
