Job Description:
The Controller will be responsible for various month, quarter and year-end closing activities resulting in consolidation and preparation of the financial packages involving all aspects of the theatrical product life-cycle from development through exploitation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow schedules.
• Liaise with operational groups for by title consolidation of revenue and expenses.
• Preparation and review of trial balance consolidations and eliminations.
• Review journal entries and general ledger analysis
• Enhance policies and practices surrounding accounting activities
• Provide support to the annual financial audit.
• Aptitude with user based financial report writing software.
• Manage and develop junior staff.
• Support financial and operational management with ad-hoc projects as needed.
Job Requirements
Qualifications/Eligibility Requirements:
• BS/BA degree in Accounting
• 5 to 7 years related entertainment financial experience
• Strong MS Excel skills.
• Strong accounting & GAAP knowledge with through understanding of SOP-002.
• Ability to work well in a growing, fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Desired:
• CPA preferred
• Public and private accounting experience preferred
• Sarbanes-Oxley experience, a plus.
