DVD QC OPERATOR: We are seeking experienced DVD QC OPERATORS to objectively evaluate optical media to ensure that the compressed picture is an accurate representation of its source master. Using a DVD emulator, you will evaluate optical media to ensure functionality of menu items, added-value material, chapter stops and overall picture and sound quality. You'll also systematically test Check Discs to ensure they can be played in a multitude of DVD players sold worldwide, and will generate written reports that list findings in a clear, concise and easy-to-read manner. Experienced game-testers are encouraged to apply!

MASTERING QC OPERATOR: We are seeking experienced MASTERING QC OPERATORS to objectively perform extensive and detailed inspection and assessment of all forms of Standard Definition and High Definition recorded media (i.e., high-source film, video and audio elements) to identify impairments, anomalies and artifacts. In this position, you’ll also generate written reports that list your findings in a clear, concise and easy-to-read manner.

COMPENSATION

We offer competitive wages based on requisite experience and skills, and a competitive benefits package that includes health, dental and vision insurance as well as paid vacation time.

Salary for DVD QC OPERATOR starts at $12 per hour. However, we would pay a higher wage, commensurate with experience and skill set.

Salary for MASTERING QC OPERATOR starts at $18 per hour. However, we would pay a higher wage, commensurate with experience and skill set.


Job Requirements

DVD QC OPERATOR: Ideal candidates will be experienced in DVD QC, including compression, emulation and Check Disc. Experience in the QC of all forms of SD and HD recorded media is a major plus. You should also be computer literate and have working knowledge of FileMaker Pro.

MASTERING QC OPERATOR: Ideal candidates will have 3 to 5 years of experience and thorough working knowledge of HDCAM SR, D5, HDCAM, Digital Betacam, MPEG-2, DPX and digital video file codecs. In addition, ideal candidates for MASTERING QC OPERATOR would have:

• The ability to think in a clear, logical and organized manner and work under minimal supervision.
• Solid working knowledge of FileMaker, Excel and Outlook.
• Knowledge of any and all time code formats.
• Firm grasp of the “big picture” as it relates to the relationship between original source master and the element under inspection.
• Ability to read audio phase.
• Ability to use VU meters to determine audio peak levels and averages.
• Ability to use a graticule generator to measure alignment markers for aspect ratio, title areas, safe action and centered picture.
• Knowledge of film formats, processes, color timing and printing to differentiate between film and digital issues.
• Ability to effectively interact and communicate with vendor staff, clients and coworkers.
• Effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills for summarizing and communicating findings.
