Sony Pictures Digital (SPD), an operating unit of Sony Pictures
Entertainment (SPE) oversees the activities of SPE's digital production and online assets. Sony Pictures Digital consists of four key operating business units: Sony Pictures Animation, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Sony Online Entertainment and Sony Pictures Digital Networks, which is focused on mobile entertainment, broadband video delivery and personal media software and services. Position: Manager of Finance - Sony Pictures Imageworks
Reports To: Director of Finance - Sony Pictures Imageworks
Job Description:
Sony Pictures Imageworks in an award-winning visual effects and animation company dedicated to the art and artistry of digital production and character creation.
The Manager position is a hands on role focusing on financial and operational analysis with heavy emphasis on production accounting finance functions. Manager is responsible for setting up policies, procedures and controls within the production accounting environment. Manager is also responsible for labor and equipment rate models and related sensitivities and analysis. In addition, the Manager is accountable for ensuring that production accounting practices comply with company policy. The Manager role requires heavy interaction with operations and production accounting as well as exposure to Senior Management.
Responsibilities include:
* Set-up and tracking of polices, procedures, and controls within production accounting
* Project ultimate maintenance for use in monthly financial reporting
* Preparation, streamlining, and maintenance of facility wide labor and equipment rates
* Financial analysis including sensitivities and metrics surrounding rate structure and methodology
* Assist with group reporting, budgeting, forecasting and planning as needed
* Assist in preparing the group's monthly management book
* Ensure proper accounting for departmental and division-wide transactions
* Various ad hoc projects and analysis as required
* Maintenance and updating of forecasting and budgeting financial models (i.e. revenue, overhead, & capital)
* Research and analysis on new business development opportunities as needed
* Heavy interaction with Imageworks production accounting and operating groups

* B.S./B.A.- Finance/Accounting, or Business degree
* 6+ years work experience in an accounting or production finance related environment
* CPA and/or MBA preferred
* Production accounting / finance experience preferred
* Financial modeling experience preferred
* Excellent management, decision-making and interpersonal skills
* Excellent Excel skills and related systems experience required
* Excellent organizational and communication skills required
* Entertainment and/or related industry experience preferred
* Ability to manage multiple projects
* Self-motivated team player
